From January to November 2023, the import value of woolen products in the United States totaled 3.83 billion US dollars, down 6.6% year-on-year. Among them, the imports of wool knitted clothing and wool woven clothing fell 13.3% and 15.5%, respectively. In the same period, the United States imported $930 million of woolen products from China, down 20.9%.
From January to November 2023, the import value of Japan’s woolen products was 194.5 billion yen (about 1.34 billion US dollars), an increase of 16.78%. In the same period, Japan imported 71.2 billion yen of woolen products from China, an increase of 5.7% year-on-year.
From January to September 2023, the EU imports of woolen products (imports from outside the EU) amounted to 3.67 billion euros (about 4 billion US dollars), an increase of 2%. Of this, 1.3 billion euros were imported from China, down 5% year-on-year.
